HOW TO MAKE REMOTE CONTROL LIGHT USING BC547





This is a simple project. Here we have used infrared communication, its simple meaning is that ir led is used for transmitter and ir receiver module is used for receiver. It is a single channel transceiver, we can activate and deactivate an output. We have used NE555 timer IC in transmitter circuit and receiver used only transistors. And its transmission distance is quite good as we feel at home TV remote. This project is going to be very educational for the beginners and if you want to make this same project using only transistors then you can comment's us and we will help you as much as possible.










Necessary ingredients :-

  1. 555 timer IC -1no
  2. IR receiver (STOP1738) -1no
  3. IR led -1no
  4. 5V DC relay -1no
  5. Transistors BC547 -4nos(Q1-Q4)
  6. Transistor BC557 -1no(Q5)
  7. Green LED for OFF indication -1no
  8. Red LED for ON indication -1no
  9. Circuit OFF/ON Switch -2nos
  10. 3.7v to 5v Battery -2nos

What is transistor

There are several types of transistors, here we will know about BJT. (Bipolar junction Transistors)BJT is two types -NPN (Negative Positive Negative)or PNP (Positive Negative Positive)
NPN and PNP Transistors work opposite to each other.

Transistors is an active semiconductor device used to switching, regulating or amplify on electrical signal or power. Basically, various applications are made using these three methods of switching, regulating, or amplification. But we only used switching method in this circuit.

A transistor has three pins and these three names are 1no-Emitter,2no-Base,3no-Collector.

IR LED ( 5mm ir led)

Before knowing about ir LED we need to know what is light. Light is a type of energy that helps the human eye to see, light is electromagnetic radiation when this radiation falls on an object and makes that object visible then we see the object.
Light is of two types one is visible light by which we can see an object so it is called visible light. Another is the invisible light that the human eye cannot detect or we cannot see for example X-rays, Gama rays, IR (infrared radiation).

A LED is a semiconductor device that emits light when current flows through the semiconductor inside the LED.   We already know that light is electro magnetic radiation, so it can be said that led is a device that converts electric energy into light energy.   Here IR LED emits light like normal led.   But we cannot see its light because the light emitted from this LED is invisible, so it is called infrared LED.


IR Receiver model (TSOP1738)



IR RECIVER module is an active semiconductor device. which is used to received infrared signals, this device is known as infrared receiver.Basically this device working principle is receiving ir signals and then converting to electrical signals. this device has three pins, pin no 1. signal out, 2. Graund 3. Vcc(5v).

1no. pin is signals output pin this pin is connect to receiver circuit for received electrical signals . 2no. pin is GND pin this pin connect 0volt, and 3no. VCC pin is 5v supply pin .
